Google: App Activity to Be Included in Search Results

The search engine giant, Google, is adding more to their search results page. This time on the right hand side you’ll be seeing activity from select apps like Fandango. Today, Google announced on their Google+ Developers blog that they will begin integrating activity from select apps into search results. First in line are a number of music and movie services, which is what we’d expect. Also as you probably expected, all the apps have to be using the Google+ sign-in. Which kinda makes sense it’ll be hard for them to get that data otherwise. The Google+ sign-in was announced not to long ago, and has even hit some Blogger and WordPress sites when Google introduced Google+ comments recently.

Some of the apps being included are Fandango, Deezer, Flixster, SoundCloud and a few others. As usual with updates, Google said that the updates will roll out gradually. The first batch of app results should be rolling out in the next few weeks and additional apps along with improvements will come over time.

This is another good reason to install Google+ sign-in on your app or website. It will definitely help you gain more exposure. And if you’re not on Google+, be sure to sign up and circle us. We have a great time over there. Even if you are signed up, you might as well circle us as well.

Google’s blog post also says that they have plenty more improvements planned and to stay tuned for more updates. This makes you wonder if they’ll be announcing any major changes at Google I/O 2013 which is about 15 days away right now. Who’s excited? I know I’m very excited to see what kind of goodies we get at Google I/O this year.

How many of you are excited to see Google+ integrated into more Google services? It always makes us happy, as most of us are on Google+ and spend most of our time over there already. Let us know in the comments below if you use Google+ often.
