Well, what do we have here? Oh, it’s just a super-secret could be, couldn’t be Android superphone benchmarked on AnTuTu! Or is it? Well, who knows but, a result for the “Google X” has been posted through AnTuTu and it’s listed as running Android 5.0.1. We’re all betting on Android 5.0 being Key Lime Pie and it isn’t entirely surprising that it might already have a small point release in the works. After all, Ice Cream Sandwich wasn’t fully stable until it hit 4.0.3 and Jelly Bean until it hit 4.1.1.
We’ve heard so much about this Motorola X Phone that you’d think you go out and pick one off of the shelf by now but, alas rumors are rumors. This time around though, there’s no mention of poor old Moto and Google are stealing all the limelight when it comes to this one. We’ve not heard of the Google X before now and it doesn’t seem like an easily marketable name when you think about it, and certainly seems more like a codename. It could be something that’s used internally at Motorola, you know, so as to not get confused with all those RAZRs floating around the office.
With a clock speed of 1.5 Ghz it’s likely this is the Snapdragon 600 which would make a lot of sense for the next pure Google device, the 800 would be nice but, that might both push up the price and delay the device. After the successful pricing of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 we’d only hope that Google were happy to keep the price as low as they can.
This could, of course, just be some joker messing around with the AnTuTu database, and we really wouldn’t be surprised if it were as let’s face it, Google probably have their own benchmarking software. Regardless, it’s interesting to see something a little more concrete come out of this, even if it probably is a fake.
What do you think, will Google name this the Google X or are we still looking at a Motorola device?
