I don’t know who would want a mock-up phone, but apparently they are not doing bad as far as pre-orders are concerned. Up until now there have been 3,700 eager Chinese customers who pre-ordered the flagship knockoff. The Huaxin company which is behind the “spectacular” HDC One is apparently expecting a big demand on the device, since their pre-order page specifies a one device per customer rule.
And, as I’m sure that you are curios of how it might perform, here are the specs next to the specs of the real HTC One:
Hardware | HDC One | HTC One |
Processor | Quad-core 1.2 GHz Media Tek 6589 | Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 |
Display | 4.7 inch with 720p resolution IPS | 4.7 inch 1080p Super LCD3 |
RAM | 1 GB | 2 GB |
Internal Memory | 16 GB | 32/64 GB |
Battery | 1600 mAh | 2300 mAh |
LTE | No | Yes |
Main Camera | 8 MP BSI CMOS 3264 x 2448 resolution | 4 Ultrapixel ImageSense, 2688 x 1520 |
Android | 4.2.1 JellyBean | 4.2.2 JellyBean |
That’s just about all I understood from the website, it being made out mostly pictures and not text, leaving Google Translate pretty much useless. But if your Mandarin is in good standing, here is the main page.
The HTC One is one of the best handsets in terms of design and it is built out of some of the highest quality materials we’ve seen on an Android phone. It’s knockoff however, didn’t clone that as well. Its casing is made out of plastic. No aluminum there. But then again for around $160, what would you expect. As long as we’re talking about the case, the dimensions of the clone is 137.9 x 68.5 x 9.3 mm (compared to HTC’s clone version of the knockoff…wait. I got mixed up. HTC One has 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3 mm). So the same thickness, but the HDC One is a bit bigger in surface.
I’m curious to find out if the Phone has a Beads (or Beat, I don’t know, I don’t make up similar names to big brands for a living) branding to compete with HTC’s Beats integration. So if you want a budget phone that looks like a high-end phone (and live in China, I’m not so sure HDC is planning a world-wide launch of the handset) you should consider this phone. But probably not.
