Once again, Samsung have released the official firmware for the Galaxy S 4, albeit for the Exynos 5 Octa packing variant that most of you reading won’t be able to get. Releasing the firmware isn’t exactly exciting but, it could give developers a closer look at how Samsung have put things together in their software for the Exynos model. It’s a real shame that Samsung couldn’t bring the Exynos model to the States and elsewhere but, it is good to see them release firmware for the device before it gets released.
The firmware features Android 4.2.2 and of course, Samsung’s TouchWiz with the Nature 2.0 UX in tow. Regardless of what you think about TouchWiz it’s here to stay and for those that actually enjoy it, you should see some tweaks coming in soon for the International model of the Galaxy S 4.
So far, Samsung have only released firmware for China and the following makes up the guts of the firmware build:

It’s worth nothing that this is not going to be much use for the everyday user and, of course, it’s perhaps of no help for devs based in the US that will be looking at a model with the Snapdragon 600 in it but, if Samsung have made such a good job of getting the firmware out for the International variant then official firmwares for carrier versions on Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon shouldn’t be too far behind, and then the fun will really begin.
