PowerA just launched the Moga Pro controller in the U.S. market. It’s primarily an upgrade to their previous Moga controller for Android which launched in the fall of last year.
The Moga Pro is slightly larger than the previous model, and it looks much more like a standard console controller. In fact, I’ll admit it looks pretty damn close to a Xbox 360 controller albeit with a black finish.
Eric Bensussen, the President of PowerA made a statement about the Moga Pro’s new size.
“The full-size Moga Pro builds on the tremendous success since the launch of Moga Pocket controller last October. When gamers put the Moga Pro controller in their hands, there’s an instant familiarity.”
The new controller includes console-style grips, dual-analog stick with clickable buttons, four universal action buttons, a directional pad, two shoulder buttons, two triggers, rechargeable batteries, a USB charging cable, and a stand for your tablet.
The Moga Pro controller connects to Android devices and tablets via a wireless Bluetooth connection.
The PowerA Moga Pro is currently available for $49.99 at the Amazon, Walmart, and MOGAanywhere retail sites. Starting next month, it will be available in Best Buy, Fred Meyer, GameStop and Walmart brick and mortar stores. It will also be available for order on Target’s website.
If you pick up the controller now, there’s a limited edition currently available that includes Gameloft’s N.O.V.A. 3. If you’ve never heard of it before, N.O.V.A. 3 is a sci-fi first person shooter like the Halo series, only it’s for mobile devices and tablets.

Of course, PowerA also released the Moga SDK (software development kit) that allows developers to enhance their games with controller support. In theory, that means a lot of games and applications will eventually be tailored for use with the Moga Pro. A lot of the games listed above are already compatible because they were designed to work with the last Moga controller.
Speaking of the older Moga controller, it’s now available for $39.99. Surely I shouldn’t need to inform you that the price drop is due to the Moga Pro launch.
