Rumor: Galaxy Note 3 Getting Samsung Orb Camera a.k.a. PhotoSphere

All signs are pointing to the Galaxy Note 3 being unveiled at another Unpacked event around the time IFA takes place this fall in Berlin. So let’s start reporting on rumors. Who doesn’t love some rumors? Well before we get into the good stuff, we’ve gotta warn you that this is a rumor and to take with a grain of salt, even though it’s pretty likely to happen.

Reports were stating that the Galaxy S4 was going to feature the Samsung Orb Camera, which is basically their take on photosphere. Real creative right? Although it’s better than calling is S Sphere or something. As we now know the Samsung Orb camera was not part of the Galaxy S4. It looks like Samsung decided to keep it for their next big thing, that will be announced at Unpacked 2013: Episode 2.

These rumors are pointing to the Samsung Orb Camera coming in the Galaxy Note 3 later this year. Speculation is also running rampid that the Galaxy Note 3 will feature Android 5.0 which should be announced at Google I/O next month. Although Samsung won’t say anything about it in their presentation, like they never said that the Galaxy S4 was running on the latest version of Android, 4.2.2.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with Photosphere, or Samsung’s Orb, it basically allows you to take 360-degree panoramic photos. They actually look really nice. Currently the only phones available that can do this is the Nexus 4. You can check out my Nexus 4 review to see some photosphere examples. We’re hoping that Samsung will add more functionality to Photosphere instead of just ripping it off from Android and Google, like just about every other feature in the Galaxy S4.

So who’s excited for the Galaxy Note 3? Or are you more interested in what we see at Google I/O next month? Let us know in the comments down below.
