It appears that our hopes and dreams of seeing Key Lime Pie at Google I/O in 14 days are dying. Today, the folks over at AndroidOS found some benchmarks in AnTuTu for the Nexus 4 LTE version running Android 4.3. The image above is a screenshot of the benchmarks for both the HSPA+ and LTE versions of the Nexus 4. You’ll notice the LTE version is running Android 4.3, while the HSPA+ version is running Android 4.2.1. Other than that everything looks the same. The processor is also running at 1.5GHz, and we’ll assume it’s still the Snapdragon S4 Pro.
We’re believing that Android 4.3 is another incremental update as it appears to be another Jelly Bean release like Android 4.2 was. We have no idea what kind of features we are likely to see, but Babel is pretty much a given right now. We’ve also reported recently that Google is said to release an LTE Nexus 4 at Google I/O which will be basically the same as the Nexus 4 that launched last November except LTE will work officially and it’ll be bumped to 32GB of storage from the 8GB and 16GB they are currently selling. We don’t have any word on which LTE bands will be supported, but we’re sure it’ll support T-Mobile and AT&T’s LTE bands at least since it is a GSM device and not a CDMA device so there’s no need to support Verizon and Sprint’s LTE.
This is both disappointing and good news. Many people were waiting on an LTE Nexus and one with 32GB of storage or more. But there was also a ton of people wanting Key Lime Pie instead of another Jelly Bean release. We’ll know all the details soon enough and share them with you as soon as we hear more.
