BLU Announces 3 New Jelly Bean Phones – Finally Realizing Demand for Large Screen Devices

BLU has put out some nice looking devices in the past. Including some 4.3-4.5-inch devices running Jelly Bean. Which is an almost stock version of Android on their devices. But they normally throw out some cheap devices with “okay” specs. Today, they announced 3 new phones, all are 5-inches or larger.

We’ve got the BLU Studio 5.0 which has a 800×480 resolution display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. It also includes 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. As far as the cameras go, it’s got a VGA front-facing camera and a 5MP rear-facing camera. It’ll be on sale for about $149. So not a bad price at all.

Next we have the Studio 5.0 S, which is still a 5-inch display but with a 960×540 resolution display. So it’s a qHD resolution at 5-inches. The Studio 5.3 S has a 5.3-inch qHD display and both devices have quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm S4 processors with an Adreno 203 GPU. Running with 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot. They both have a 2MP front-facing camera and an 8MP shooter on the back. The Studio 5.0 S will be on sale for $209 and the Studio 5.3 S will be at $229.

So the specs don’t look the best for these devices, but when you see the prices, they are quite good. If you’re used to flagship devices, these are going to look pretty bad since it’s a qHD display compared to 720p and 1080p displays. BLU makes some great devices, but they are unlocked, which means no support for Sprint or Verizon. How many of you would pick up one of these phones from BLU? Let us know in the comments down below.
