Today, the Android team updated the Google Calendar app for Android. It brings quite a few updates to the device. It brings a feature that allows you to customize event and calendar colors directly from your device. Of course, you’ll need to be running Android 4.2.1 or later to use that feature. You can also now highlight those super-urgent meetings and important birthdays, or even just switch up the color of your calendar whenever you want.
They’ve also made adding events even easier than before. With their redesigned data and time pickers as shown above. You can choose your date and time very easily, and even start your vacation in a snap. I know I need a vacation, not sure about the rest of you.
For those that travel between different time zones, they haven’t forgotten about you. The redesigned timezone picker makes it simpler to find the region that you’re looking for. No matter where your travelling from or too. They’ve also made it easier to make repeating events. So now you can repeat events every Tuesday and Thursday, every month, or every 7 weeks.
It’s a pretty big update for Google Calendar and is available in the Play Store now (or within a few hours as the servers update worldwide). Be sure to hit the button down below to grab the update from Google Play. It’s a good thing that Google has broken out the Calendar app from Android so it can be updated without an OS update. Similar to Google Now. Or else the most of Android users out there wouldn’t see this update for months, if they ever did see it.
How many of you have gotten the update already? What do you think about it? Liking the new interface? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
