Will the Babble/Babel/Hangouts rumors ever end? Well they won’t, at least not until it’s finally announced at Google I/O next Wednesday. This new service is supposedly Google’s new unified chat service which will bring together most of their chat services into one big service. I say most because there’s rumors going around that SMS and Google Voice won’t be integrated at launch.
Today, TechRadar posted some screens of Hangouts. We already saw some leaked screens come from them in the past few weeks. Now we are seeing even more. The screenshot down below is when you attempt to “sign out of Hangouts”. There are also some others down below that show sharing pictures, adding people to the hangout, and much more. Is it just me, or is Google I/O still to far away?
You can see all the emoticons which look pretty familiar. Much like the emotions on Google+, right? TechRadar is also reporting that their source at Google received an email yesterday about Google I/O which thanked staff for their work on some of the products they’ve been testing. This basically means, if true, that Google Hangouts will be uneviled at Google I/O next week. This is probably the most anticipated feature coming from Google in quite a while. I think Google Hangouts, Babel, Babble or whatever they call it is getting a ton of buzz and is something we all really want.
Google I/O is just 5 days away. If you haven’t already done so, check out our full preview for the big show. Also make sure you stay tuned to Android Headlines as we’ll have a live stream and will be bringing you the best I/O coverage around! Now where’s the new Nexus 7?
