Is this the New Nexus 7? If So, Where is the Official Announcement?

Google shared some news about them expanding Street View, and that they’ve added Central Park and the 9/11 Memorial to Street View. In the video we noticed a rather interesting device, as shown above.

You probably notice it’s a device that we’ve never seen, yet. It kinda looks like a larger Nexus 4. Earlier this week we saw reports that an ASUS 7-inch tablet has passed through the Bluetooth certification with Android 4.3. We were expecting the Nexus 7 to make an appearance at Google I/O earlier this month. But both the Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 were absent.

The device in this video could just be a random device to mess with us geeks, hoping it’s a new Nexus. It does kind of look like a HTC tablet, and I personally hope it is. I love HTC’s build quality, and having stock Android with updates from Google will give us the best of both worlds. For those that had the Nexus One, I’ve heard so many great things about that device. And there are many people who would love to have another HTC Nexus device.

You can check out the highlights video down below about Google Street View in New York City. Go ahead and skip to 0:53 seconds in to see this slate make an appearance. The slate has a bunch of geeks like us excited.

What do you think? Is this just a random prototype? Or could this be a Nexus device in disguise to mess with our heads? We’re really looking forward to a new Nexus 7, and there’s a rumor floating around that it’ll be announced with Android 4.3 on June 10th. Which coincidentally is the same day as Apple’s keynote at WWDC, their developer conference. So if this is true, well played Google! Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
