The LG Optimus G2 has appeared in several AnTuTu benchmarks, and it also cropped up over at the Bluetooth Sig, after earning a Bluetooth certification. If you had any doubts whether or not the Optimus G2 was coming, they will probably be gone after this. Then again, maybe not but at least you get the point.
The AnTuTu benchmark scores actually reveal that there are three different variants of the LG Optimus G2, all for varying markets. It makes sense that LG has different models planned, considering how much of a pain it is to develop devices for all of the different LTE markets currently available. Judging by this information, they might be planning a global launch.
It looks like the first two variants of the Optimus G2 are running a 2GHz processor, and if we had to guess it’s probably the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800. After all, the Snapdragon 800 is the only chipset on the market currently that’s capable of 2GHz clock speeds.
The third variant is running a 1.5GHz processor on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. That means we can probably expect one variant to include toned down hardware, but that’s just speculation at this point.
As you’ll notice from the image, the first two devices are also running Android 4.2.2 which is pretty big news all on its own.
Other rumored specs include a 5-inch display (1920 x 1080 maximum resolution), a 13MP rear facing camera and a 2.1MP front facing camera.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any leaked photos to share or information about a price and release date. I’m willing to bet, that these will drop sometime by the end of the year, however. That’s pretty much a given when you consider the fact that the Optimus G was released in the fall of last year. LG is probably looking to keep the same release schedule for the new handsets.
Like I said above though, a lot of this is just speculation based on what we do know. Do you have any predictions of your own? How about those AnTuTu benchmark specs, what do you think of those? Feel free to share in the comments below.
