LG Optimus G2 Leaks Out Again on Camera

We all know the Optimus G2 is coming, or at least, it’d make a lot of sense for LG to deliver a direct follow-up to last year’s Optimus G. We’ve already heard quite a bit about the upcoming device, that it’s supposedly launching in Q3, and that it could be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 800 CPU. As well as this, there are reports that the device’s model number is the LG-D801 and that it just might possibly become the Nexus 5.

As you can see in the image above, TechTastic have apparently gotten their hands on a photo of what the Optimus G2 is going to look like. If anything, this looks more like a Nexus device to us but, considering LG made the Nexus 4, keeping a similar shape wouldn’t be completely unheard of. According to rumors, the Optimus G2 is going to be a 5-inch 1080p smartphone and again, LG’s flagship for the next year. Overall, the look and feel is close to that of already leaked images from @evleaks as everything matches up right from the front-facing camera to the speaker positioning. It’s unsurprising as well, that LG are keeping the Optimus G2 near the same size as last year’s flagship, it also handily matches up to the Galaxy S 4 and HTC’s One.

LG have expressed a desire to rollout this device in a more timely manner worldwide, as oppose to the stage launch that the Optimus G saw. It’s likely that this is down to the impressive global launch the Galaxy S 4 enjoyed at the hands of Samsung.

LG have been relatively quiet so far this year, with the only high-profile launch in the US being the Optimus G Pro, which launched only on AT&T which suggests LG aren’t done for the rest of the year. Could this well be LG’s 2013 flagship?
