Next Generation Nexus 7 Makes an Appearance in Hangouts Promo Video?

And the Nexus 7 rumors continue. Well this isn’t much of a rumor. But we noticed, along with many other people, that about twenty seconds into the Hangouts video (shown at the bottom of this post) that it has what looks like a Nexus 7, except there’s a notification light there. Now many of you might remember that the Nexus 7 is the only current Nexus device not to have a notification light. So could this be the new version of the Nexus 7? Quite possibly.

The image you see above is what we believe to be the new Nexus 7. Which means, if it is, it’s basically going to look the same but with newer internals and probably a better screen. We’re also expecting to see it in July with Android 4.3. It also appears to have the multi-color RGB notification light that we’ve all come to know and love.

Yesterday, Google announced Hangouts for cross platform. That means it works on iOS, Android and the desktop well web. So did Google leave the new Nexus 7 in that video by mistake? Were they originally planning on announcing it at Google I/O yesterday? Who knows. But we are expecting a 1920×1200 display on the Nexus 7 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Maybe we’re just looking into this one to much? We were definitely looking for a new Nexus 7 and a new version of Android yesterday at the keynote, which we didn’t get either one. But a report from earlier today suggests we might get both in July.

What do you guys think? Is that the next generation Nexus 7? Or are we just anxious for some new hardware to play with? Maybe it’s just one hell of a Photoshop job? Let us know in the comments down below what you think about this, and check out the video down below.
