I hope you didn’t think you already had enough preloaded apps on the Galaxy S4, or HTC One. If you’re heading to Sprint for one of these devices, you’ll have one more pre-installed. Today, Path inked a deal with Sprint to have their app pre-installed on the Samsung galaxy S4, HTC One and Kyocera Torque.
Path’s application will be featured inside Sprint’s ‘Discover It’ widget, which you can see pictured below. Path is a social network that specializes in a more intimate experience and limits its users to just 150 friends. These limitations are designed to encourage members to make Path a place where they can share their most private moments with their closest friends. Instead of having the whole world know about everything you’re doing.
They recently updated both their iPhone and Android apps which introduced a new colorful messaging experience, with stickers. Which is said to be attracting new users. They also encourage members to invite their friends to the app by default, which is also bringing more users to the network.
The company is rather small, but it’s working to get as big as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+, and being pre-installed on two of the hottest devices will really help them expand their user base. On the other hand, this is just another app that we have to uninstall when we set up our brand new Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, or Kyocera Torque.
Didn’t we already have enough pre-installed apps on the Galaxy S4 and HTC One (Not sure about the Kyocera Torque)? Now Sprint has added one more. The AT&T Galaxy S4 already has 58 apps pre-installed when you first turn it on. I’m sure Sprint has close to the same amount. How many of you disable all the carrier bloat when you first get your phone? Let us know in the comments down below.
