When we talk about Samsung, there’s absolutely no way you can deny that they’re one of the most popular smartphone manufactures right now, and when it comes to Android? Forget about it, Samsung sell more Android smartphones than anyone else and selling 4 Million Galaxy S 4s in just five days is a pretty damn good way to show it. The Galaxy S 4 recently launched around the globe and now the company has been talking sales figures, albeit estimated figures that are by no means concrete details.
Recently, a Samsung Exec was quoted as saying the following:
“As of the end of April, we supplied four million Galaxy S4 handsets to telecommunication operators around the world. As of Friday, we have sold more than 6 million units, and we predict that we could break the 10-million mark by as early as the end of this month,”
No matter how you look at it, that’s really quite impressive, and hardly surprising as well. Sure, you could argue that the Galaxy S 4 is very similar to last year’s flagship but, it’s still a great device and Samsung have certainly used the hype to their advantage. The Galaxy S III, in contrast, took 21 days to sell its first three million. Samsung then went on to sell over 40 Million of them.
It’s clear that the Galaxy S 4 is a successful device and with rumors of a “Google Edition” hitting I/O, the only place its popularity can go is up. The question is though, can they keep this up for the amount of time the Galaxy S III was so popular for? It seems very likely but, HTC have a successful handset on their heads and with a renewed attitude to marketing they could give Samsung a run for their money. However, when it comes to marketing, HTC will have a long way to go before they can hope to match Samsung’s exposure.
So, it would seem that the Galaxy S 4 is a definite success, as if we’d expect anything different? Have you got a Galaxy S 4? If so, let us know in the comments how you’re liking it.
