The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a great tablet that, as you probably guessed, is based off of the Xperia Z that was introduced back at CES in January. It was officially announced at Mobile World Congress in February and we’ve seen it pop up at various places around the world since. We’ve also seen the Xperia Z hit the FCC with what looks to be T-Mobile bands. Now we are seeing the Xperia Tablet Z hitting the FCC with T-Mobile bands. So hopefully T-Mobile will launch both devices soon.
The Xperia Z Tablet has these specs:
- 10.1-inch 1920×1200 TFT Reality Display
- Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2
- Qualcomm Quad-core 1.5GHz processor
- Android 4.1
- 6.99mm thin or thick
- Weighs in at 500 grams
- 8.1MP rear shooter
- Water resistant and dust-proof
No doubt that the Xperia Tablet Z is a good looking tablet, and has some nice specs as well. But how much will it sell for on T-Mobile? We’ve seen Sony launch it’s devices here unlocked for $600-800 for their flagships. So I’d hope that Sony doesn’t sell this one for that much. And with T-Mobile having you actually pay for the device, it could be a pretty big down payment.
Now it’s not official that the Xperia Tablet Z or the Xperia Z is coming to T-Mobile, but it is looking more and more likely each day. We’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope we hear some news from Magenta in the next month or so about both devices. Sony’s starting to fall behind the curve though, since these devices should have been at carriers months ago.
But at this point, these are kinda older devices right? Running the Snapdragon S4 Pro. Would you still pay a flagship price for either of these devices? Let us know in the comments below.
