This Week's Burning Question: Jelly Bean or Key Lime Pie?

This week we’ve been hearing a lot about Google announcing another version of Jelly Bean instead of Key Lime Pie which is what we all were expecting and hoping to see in 2 weeks at Google I/O. We’ve been seeing builds of Android 4.3, 4.3.1, and 4.3.3 hitting our servers along with other sites like Android Police and Android Authority. So we know Android 4.3 is coming. But it appears to be Jelly Bean, based on the build numbers. If it were Key Lime Pie it would start with a K instead of a J, as far as build numbers go.

We have a few theories as to why Google is releasing a third version of Jelly Bean. One is for OEMs to catch up a bit since they are just now rolling out Android 4.1 to most of their devices. Which puts them a full version behind still. Unless you want to count Android 4.2.1 and 4.2.2. Then there’s another theory that Google could be masking Android 5.0 or Key Lime Pie with these builds of Android. Which is pretty easy to do. In fact I could change the build.prop on my Nexus 4 to run Android 7.0 if I really wanted too.

So that leads us to this week’s Burning Question. Would you rather the next version be Android 4.3 – Jelly Bean or Android 5.0 – Key Lime Pie? Use the comments below to voice your opinion on all of this. I’ll be in the comments too talking with you, our awesome readers.
