App of the Day: Google Cloud Print

Nowadays we do just about everything from our phone. So why not print from it? Google Cloud Print has been around for quite a while and works really well in Chrome, I use it all the time at home. The new app from Google allows you to cloud print from your Android device running Android 2.3.3 or later. It also allows you to share a picture or document from apps like the gallery directly to cloud print and print it for you to share with others. Additionally you can track the status of your print jobs.

As Google puts it on Google Play “Printing from Android has never been easier”. And it really has never been easier than this. It’s a great way to print stuff from your email, webpages, pictures and everything else without having to find a computer. Of course you’ll need a Cloud Print compatible printer for this to work.

Google Cloud Print is available in the Play Store for free and it takes up about 1.9MB of space making it rather small. Especially when it’s compared to other apps that most people have installed on their phones and tablets. Reviews for the app is sitting at an average of 4.7 stars with nearly half a million downloads. If you know how Google Cloud Print works, then you’ll love this app. It appears most of the bad reviews are from those that don’t really know what Google Cloud Print is or have never used it.
