The Galaxy Note III is fast becoming one of the most spoken about smartphones of the year, now that the Galaxy S4 is out there and in owner’s hands. It’s no surprise that we’re hearing so much about this upcoming smartphone from Samsung, is it? Even if you take into account that the rumor mill fires up as soon the slightest hint shows up on the radar but, with Samsung keeping the formula much the same for the Galaxy S4, eyes are on the Note line to see what’s different. In the past couple of years, the Note line from Samsung has gone from being laughed at as a niche product to yet another powerhouse of the smartphone market. The Note II was not only made available on all four major US carriers but, it’s practically got its own cult following.
The Note III is coming, that’s like saying the sun’s gonna rise in the morning, but what seems to be up in the air right now is just when we’re going to see. Analyst’s seem to think it’s coming in September but, there’s fresh evidence from ETNews that suggests we could see an announcement as early as August. We’ve heard before that Samsung is putting the brakes on their component orders from their supplies, lowering orders from 12 Million in May to 8 Million this month and then down to 6.5 Million in July. What does this have to do with the Note III? Well – as it always seems to be the case – an “insider” has been quoted by ETNews as saying the following:
“Since we will start placing orders for follow-up models, such as Galaxy Note III, from August, the impact to suppliers will be minimal.”
If Samsung are going to place orders for their finalized design and build of the Note III in August, then it stands to reason that they’ll have a production sample to show off to the press, and of course make a big amount of fuss about on stage. If Samsung were to announce in September, they’d more than likely end up having to do it during IFA once again and, so far in 2013, Samsung have been keen to go it alone both with the Galaxy S4 and with their recent launch event for the Galaxy NX in London.
