There are a lot of unique ways to propose, especially for a geek. Unfortunately, there are a lot of proposals that have been done a million times over. These days, it’s quite difficult to do something for the very first time.
Breon Nagy of Minneapolis, didn’t let that stop him. While wearing a pair of Google Glasses, Nagy dropped to one knee at Leeds Castle in Kent, England and proudly proposed to his wife-to-be:
“If you were my queen, I’d buy you a million castles. Let’s start our adventure together. Will you marry me?”
Nagy captured the entire moment with Glass, preserving it forever. Better yet, now he and his family can experience the moment in first person. Imagine being able to show your sons just how suave you were in the moment!
The 26-second video below, titled ‘She said yes #throughglass’ shows Nagy and his fianc© as it happens. Maybe it’s just me, but she certainly looks pretty happy to be holding that ring. Apparently, Nagy carried it around Europe with him while waiting for the opportune time to pop the question.

It definitely shows off how engaging [pun intended] and useful Glass can be. If this is the first proposal through Glass, I wonder how long it will be until we see someone propose via Hangouts? Even better, how long will it be until we see an entire wedding party wearing Glass? Now that would be some crazy stuff to watch!
All in all, Nagy had a pretty romantic proposal wouldn’t you say? It looks like his lover had no qualms with the fact that he was wearing those expensive, yet nerdy augmented reality glasses while they were on their trip.
I have to admit, I’m a little envious. I would love to be able to record special moments like this in first person. I’m sure Nagy has a lot more of the video to watch, as he likely edited the whole thing before uploading it to YouTube.
Would you propose while wearing Glass? What other things would you like to record while wearing the glasses? What do you think of Nagy’s proposal overall?
