We’re probably getting real close to an official reveal from Samung of the Galaxy Note III. What makes me say that? The rumors are streaming out in a steady and constant manner. Usually, that is indicative of a closing unveil.
Earlier today, some information cropped up that a new model number had appeared over at the official Samsung Global Download Center. Oddly enough, just the model number is currently available and all of the corresponding user manuals are missing.
The offending model number is the SM-N900, and there was also a similar model SM-N900J. Unfortunately, the listings for both devices have since been removed shortly after being discovered. That tells us that someone at Samsung possibly made a mistake.
The model numbers were available through the Mobile Device > Smartphone category on the official Samsung website. Apparently, Blog of Mobile managed to snag a screenshot of the listed models before they were removed from sight.
Similar rumors have cropped up recently pointing to a nearly identical model number for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note III.
Samsung is expected to announce the latest Galaxy Note handset during the IFA conference set to take place later in September of this year. It may seem like a long stretch of time, but realistically that’s only a few months away. I’m willing to bet that time will fly by.
The most promising rumor that released about the upcoming handset, is that Samsung has purportedly increased the size to 6.3-inches. That’s slightly smaller than Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z Ultra. Still, the Galaxy Note III is likely to be a massive device all around. What do you think of devices that size? Many of you would much prefer smaller handsets, so I’m sure there are some angry folks out there with pitchforks that the industry seems to be increasing the size of devices.
Then again, several “mini” handsets have started to crop up all over the place.
