Rumor: Incredible Tech Surfing Kitten Confirms Sony Xperia Togari [ZU] Specs

Here’s something you don’t see every day, a kitten confirming the specs for a new Sony handset. Okay, so maybe said kitten didn’t really announce anything except for a firm “meow,” but it was certainly riding on top of the handset a la California surf style.

The handset is the previously rumored Sony Xperia Togari, and sources straight out of the litter box say that it will be called the Xperia ZU commercially. The image first leaked over at the Esato forums, where individuals first sighted it on a Chinese website- which happens to no longer be available.

As you can see from the image, the device is very thin and looks to fit the rumored 6.44-inch profile rumored for the Xperia Togari. It’s not the first leak we’ve seen in relation to the upcoming handset either.

According to VR-Zone, who sources anonymous “insiders” probably not of the litter box variety, the Xperia ZU name is definite. Rumors also point to a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of installed RAM, an 8MP camera, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and compatibility with a wide variety of stylii. The 6.44-inch display supposedly features a full HD resolution equipped with Triluminous technology, which allows LCD displays to provide more vibrant color palettes.

Keeping in line with recent Xperia devices, the ZU or Togari is also said to be water and dust proof.

At least two parts of this rumor seem to be a little far-fetched. First the Snapdragon 800 processor seems a little out of Sony’s league, since they usually don’t go for the bleeding edge when it comes to hardware in their new handsets. Second, the Full HD rumor is questionable because we have yet to see such a large panel size equipped with those numbers (resolution). Still, it’s entirely possible these specs are true, and if so they definitely point to a pretty remarkable handset.

Sony is hosting a press event in Germany on June 25, and many believe they will unveil the device there. Unfortunately, that oh-so-cute kitten is probably not going to be included in the box if you pick one of these bad boys up at launch- whenever that may be. It’s a shame too, because that kitten really looks like it can shred some waves, man.
