Samsung Galaxy S4 Wireless Charging Kit Now Available

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Wireless Charging kit is now available. And guess what? It’s available on the Android Headlines store now for $90 (link removed). It allows you to wireless (sort of) charge your Galaxy S4. It includes a separate cover that can use the Qi wireless charger, which is the same technology that the Nexus 4 uses. With this, you’re semi free from wires, since the charging pad still needs to be plugged in. You also don’t have to worry about constant plugging and unplugging of your device.

As we said, the kit comes in two parts. The charging pad and the new charging cover. The back cover is a bit bulkier than the original cover, but you probably won’t notice it to much. Just in case you were wondering, it does still allow NFC to work. Most cases should also work with the back cover as well. Although we can’t confirm that with a case on the wireless charger will work.

The charging plate is a bit small and its edges are curved upwards. So you shouldn’t have any problems with your device sliding off of the charger like with the Nexus 4 charging orb. The wireless charger charges at 650mA which is pretty reasonable. Considering charging via USB 2.0 charges at about 500mA. AC Chargers charge at 1A. So the wireless charger isn’t going to charge as fast as the wall charger, but it’s still pretty cool.

You can grab the Galaxy S4 wireless charging kit is now available from our Accessories store for $89.95 (link removed) which is about 10% off the list price. For those of you interested, check it out. If you do purchase it, let us know in the comments below how you like or dislike it.
