For what feels like a long time now, the Galaxy Tab 3 series has been headed to shelves everywhere. Well, with the devices officially announced by Samsung, it was only a matter of time that they came to the U.S. Market, right? That time is apparently now, with the device available to pre-order from tomorrow, hitting shelves properly from July 7th. Much like the specs inside of these guys suggested, the pricing of the Galaxy Tab 3 series isn’t going to be too harsh on your wallet, although these aren’t Nexus prices so don’t get your hopes up too much.
Starting off the line-up is the baby-bear of the bunch, the Tab 3 7.0, running at just $199. The 7-inch version of the Galaxy Tab 3 isn’t going to blow you away in terms of specs but, there’s a lot on offer from the little guy. Especially if you’re looking for both removable storage and a rear-facing camera. Let’s take a look at the specs:
- 7-inch LCD Display at 1024 x 600
- 1.2 Ghz Dual-Core CPU
- 1GB of RAM
- 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1.3-megapixel camera round front
- 8 or 16GB of storage, with microSD support
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 4,000 mAh Battery
Things get a little more interesting when we take a look at the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, which has a lot more in common with the Note 8.0 than it does the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. It’s got a much nicer display, and features a little more under the hood as well. If you’re looking for a compromise between extra screen real-estate and portability, then this is it. This one starts at $299 and this is what you get for your money:
- 8-inch LCD Display at 1280 x 800
- 1.5 Ghz Dual-Core CPU
- 1.5GB of RAM
- 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1.3-megapixel camera round front
- 8 or 16GB of storage, with microSD support
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 4,450 mAh Battery
The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is the tablet for those that just want something bigger, rather than better. We say that because while the Tab 3 10.1 is both more expensive – at $399 – and larger, it’s not all that much better. It’s still a solid offering for those looking for a new tablet but, we think Samsung can do a little better. Nevertheless here are the specs:
- 10.1-inch LCD Display at 1280 x 800
- 1.6 Ghz Dual-Core Intel CPU
- 1GB of RAM
- 3-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1.3-megapixel camera round front
- 8 or 16GB of storage, with microSD support
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 6,800 mAh Battery
