Although Google just recently added the new Nexus 7 to Google Play and will start shipping soon in July 30, It seems that TeamWin has certainly been eager to root the highly anticipated tablet! Before anyone got the chance to google ¢â‚¬Å“how to root 2013 Nexus 7¢â‚¬ TeamView released a new version of their TWRP recovery made specifically for the new Nexus 7. The Android 4.3 SuperSU is already available online so we¢â‚¬â„¢re ready to root our Nexus you’ll just need to download a couple of files, the TWRP recovery image and the SuperSU zip file. Of course your bootloader should be unlocked which fairly easy but if you have problems doing it you can refer to this XDA tutorial.
Before you start rooting it’s crucial to back up all your data in case anything goes wrong. Back up your contacts using your Gmail account, back up your SMS, images, songs, settings, and anything else you need. USB debugging should be turned on, you can do that from ¢â‚¬Å“Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging¢â‚¬. Plus it’s important that you charge your battery prior to rooting, battery capacity shouldn’t be less than 40% or you’ll risk your device being turned off in the middle of the rooting process.
