This week seems to be all about Motorola. Which as a Writer, is quite refreshing instead of writing about Samsung all week long and a little bit about HTC. But our buddy @evleaks has just tweeted out about the new Motorola phones for Verizon and the Moto X. It appears that the Droid Ultra will be the XT1080, which passed through the FCC this week. Then the Droid Maxx will be the XT1080M, the Droid Mini is the XT1030, which went through the FCC this week as well. Finally the Moto X will be the XT1060. So far everything has passed through the FCC except the Droid Maxx. Which is interesting to see them drop the Razr name from the Maxx.
All of these are headed to Verizon. This is more than likely the Verizon Moto X that Evleaks is referring to here. Since each variant will have a slightly different model number. But now we know that the XT1080 and XT1030 are the Droid Ultra and Droid Mini from earlier this week. Given evleaks track record, I’d have to say this is probably spot on. Right now we are still waiting on the XT1080M to pass through the FCC. Which if these devices are being announced on July 11th, it should be passing through any day now.
As far as specs go, we know basically nothing about the Droid’s. But the Moto X is said to be rather mid-range, with a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor on board. The Droid Maxx is most definitely going to have a 3500mAh or larger battery inside. Since it should be the successor to the Droid Razr Maxx HD from last year. Let’s hope that Motorola and Verizon can get these devices out quickly and also market them well. Motorola needs to have a good remainder of 2013.
How many of are excited for any of Motorola’s new phones coming out soon? I know many of you are really watching the Moto X pretty hard core. But what about the new Droid line Motorola is getting ready to launch? Let us know in the comments below.
