Leak Shows new Nexus 7 to Feature a 1.5GHz Quad-Core Processor, and Android 4.3

Earlier this week, when invites went out about the Google event next week, we began to see plenty of leaks for the new Nexus 7. Which we are expecting to be announced at that event. The “Breakfast with Sundar Pichai” event. We had also seen that the pricing of the tablet was going to jump to $229 and $269. Which really isn’t a big deal, especially when you’re getting a 7-inch pure Android tablet for under $300. But we hadn’t heard what the extra money is going to get us. Well we kind of did, but it wasn’t confirmed.

Now Engadget has gotten their hands on a new leak which shows us some of the specs and key features for the device. It’s said to have a 1.5GHz quad-core  processor. We’re going to assume it’s the Snapdragon S4 Pro since the Snapdragon 600 and 800 clock much higher. It’s also going to keep the 7-inch display, which we figured since it’s still the Nexus 7. It’ll also be adding a rear-facing camera. It’ll have a 1.2MP on the front and a 5MP on the back, and it will be running Android 4.3. The leak also lists some of the key features which include wireless charging and a slim port which would support 1080p output for playing HD content. Hopefully that means we have a 1080p display on this one. This is the 32GB model, so we know Google is starting out with a 32GB model. We just don’t know if the other will be 16GB or 64GB. I’m hoping for a 64GB, not that I’ll need it though.

These specs really aren’t “confirmed” but they do match up with every other leak we’ve seen in the past few months. So they are looking more and more legit by the day. We should know all the specifics next week during Google’s big event, which is being livestreamed and covered by your favorite Android site, Android Headlines.
