We know the Moto X is being assembled in the US and being designed by us. We’ve been seeing lots of campaigns for the Moto X lately. First there was that ad they ran in a few major newspapers for the Fourth of July holiday. Then we’ve begun seeing all kinds of tweets from Motorola’s Twitter account. Including the one above. Where Motorola says he is building the Moto X. here’s the full text of the tweet:
Yep. This guy is building exactly what you think he is. Designed by you. Assembled in the USA.
So he’s building the Moto X, which is “designed by you” and assembled in the USA. So where’s the launch date? It’s funny how Motorola says that it’s “designed by you” but I’m pretty sure no one has ordered a Moto X yet, unless the Googlers and Motorola employees got first crack. We have heard that there will be some customization involved for the Moto X. Including engraving, wallpapers, different blackpates. We’ve even heard of a wood backplate for the Moto X. As well as ceramic. I think I’d rather have a polycarbonate backplate for my Moto X.
So far we aren’t positive on how much customization the Moto X will have but we do know that there will be some form of customization for customers. We’re still waiting on an official announcement and release date. But it’s gotta be coming soon, right? It’s also been reported that Motorola is going to have a pretty huge marketing budget, around $500 million. Which is surprising since they just lost over $300 million in Q2. I guess Google is helping them out with the marketing.
Let’s all encourage this guy to keep working. We want our Moto X’s now! How many of you are excited for the upcoming Moto X? Let us know in the comments below.
