Today, we’ve been seeing plenty of news about the new Nexus 7. We saw the pricing leak already, and we also know that Google is holding an event on July 24th. Now we are seeing some internal memo’s from OfficeMax that they are expecting the Nexus 7 to arrive on 7/20/13. That means the new Nexus 7 is coming in on Saturday. The second image also shows that they are referring to the new Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and the New Nexus 7. It also appears to still be made from ASUS, which was confirmed many times already.
So far, specs are still somewhat of a mystery. But we’ve heard the Nexus 7 might have a Snapdragon 600, Snapdragon S4 Pro or a Snapdragon 800. We’re also expecting a 1080p display, a rear camera and 4G LTE connectivity. We’re expecting Google to show it off at their event next week. Where we’ll be having breakfast with Sundar Pichai in San Francisco. Sundar is the new head of Android, and he’s also the head of Chrome. We are also expecting to see Android 4.3 at this event. Then again, we’ve been expecting both the Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 since Google I/O. Hopefully this time it’s really the time.
So it looks like the Nexus 7 will be available at Office Max. But it doesn’t show us the pricing. The pricing we saw earlier today is showing us $229 for the 16GB version and $269 for the 32GB version which is still quite cheap for a 7-inch, 1080p tablet with a Snapdragon 600 processor. I’d definitely like to see a Snapdragon 800 inside.
We’ll probably see more and more leaks coming later this week and up until next Wednesday. We’ll be covering the event as we always do. And we’ll also be keeping our fingers crossed hoping that the Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 is announced. How many of you are desperately hoping for a new Nexus 7? Let us know in the comments below.
