We’ve all heard the stories and rumors of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note III sporting a 5.7 inch display but it turns out, there might be more to the story than that. Indian Logistics website is showing 3 different models of the Galaxy Note III in three different sizes: 5.5 inch, 5.7 inch and 6.0 inch displays. Let’s dig a little deeper and think about it for a second, shall we?
This sounds like a typical Samsung move, make a good device and then bastardize it in the worst possible way. Admittedly, the Galaxy S IV Active looks like a good alternative, but the Zoom is just a mess that makes little to no sense at all and the Galaxy S IV Mini is just a joke, it might be a fairly good device, but it’s not a Galaxy S IV device, period.
The rumors about the Galaxy Note III started a long time ago, first it was a 5.99 inch screen, then it was 6 inch, then it was 5.7, it was also rumored to be a flexible display but then it turned out it was not. Even the inside had so many rumors that we lost count, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the new Exynos 5 Octa 5420, no wait, it’s the Exynos 5 Octa 5410 instead, it has an 8 megapixel camera, no, it’s a 13 megapixel with a Xenon flash and so on.
Well, most of them might be true after all, as you can see in the image, there are 3 different models for the device N900 which is the Galaxy Note III model number, it just happens that Samsung decided to send 8 different devices to India for R&D and Testing & Evaluation processes.
If we want to keep our heads calm, it just might be that Samsung is internally testing these devices before settling for just one of them, but honestly, I’m expecting Samsung to release them all just like with the Galaxy S IV, maybe even with the same naming scheme.
The “regular” Galaxy Note III, with a 5.7 inch screen and a 13 megapixel camera will come first, followed by a Galaxy Note III Mini with a 5.5 inch display and a cheaper body with an 8 megapixel camera, and beyond that, a Galaxy Note III Active, with a stronger body, a flexible harder to break 6 inch display and a Xenon flash on top of the 13 megapixel camera.
If this turns out to be true, Samsung has lost all common sense by calling a 5.5 inch device anything with Mini on it’s name, that’s just wrong, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, this is all just speculation after all.
As for processors, we know that Samsung likes to use Qualcomm for the U.S. so it’s likely the Snapdragon 800 ends up inside the device, while the international version will use the Exynos 5 Octa, most probably the 5410 variant we already know from the Galaxy S IV.
I don’t know if there’s more to talk about this device, Samsung made a hell of a job by keeping everything secret, we heard so many stuff we don’t know what is true, even this listing could just be part of Samsung’s plan to confuse everyone. If that’s the case, then I applaud you Samsung for a job well done.
