On Wednesday, Samsung appointed Gregory Lee as the President of Samsung Telecommunications America. Mr. Lee was the former Global Operations Manager in Southeast Asia. Now the former president of Samsung Telecommunications America, Dale Sohn who is directly responsible for Samsung’s success with the Galaxy portfolio of devices, has headed back to Korea to be the Executive Advisor to Samsung’s head JK Shin. At this point, we have no idea how this is going to affect consumers, but we might see some changes in Samsung devices coming to the US and how quickly they get here. Only time will tell.
Gregory Lee has been the President of Samsung’s Southeast Asia Headquarters for the last three years. He was also the head of Global Marketing Operstions at the Samsung Electronics headquarters in Korea, as we stated above. He is a recognized expert through his achievements in marketing and innovative operations in Southeast Asia. Mr. Lee is going to continue building Samsung’s Telecommunications America’s success and mobile business initiatives.
The Former president of Samsung Telecommunications America, Dale Sohn served as President for about 7 years. But he’ll be returning to Korea to be an Executive Advisor to JK Shin, co-CEO and President of the IT & Mobile communications. While Mr. Sohn was the President at Samsung Telecommunications America, Samsung became the number one in the US Mobile phone market. Also achieved record results with the Galaxy smartphones.
So there seem to be some pretty big changes afoot at Samsung, at least here in the US. But I doubt it’ll really hurt Samsung at all. Although I do hope Mr. Lee can help bring Samsung devices to the US quicker than to the rest of the world. Like the Galaxy S4 Zoom, isn’t even announced for the US at all. Then the Galaxy S4 Active is only available on AT&T. Which kinda defeats the purpose of having the Galaxy S4 on all the carriers, right?
