As we get closer and closer to the official announcement of the Galaxy Note 3, we’re seeing more and more leaks surfacing. The folks at SIMOnlyRadar have just gotten their hands on some alleged sketches and specs of the new Galaxy Note 3, which we are expecting to be unveiled at IFA in early September.
As you can see by the image above, the specs are also shown on the sketch. The sketch looks a lot like the Galaxy Note 2. But did we expect anything different? As far as the specs go, we’re looking at:
- 5.7-inch Super AMOLED MIPI display
- Exynos Cortex A15, Cortex A7, Octa-core CPU or Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz quad-core CPU
- 13MP AF with Xenon Flash cmaera on the back
- A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n and OTG
That’s all it shows for specs, which makes us think we’ll be getting the Snapdragon 800 here in the US while the rest of the world gets the Exynos 5 Octa, just like with the Galaxy S4. It sucks, but this is the second time it’s happened with the Galaxy S lineup, although the US variants of the Galaxy Note 2 are all running the Exynso 4 quad-core processor. Not that the Snapdragon 800 isn’t powerful, but it’s nice to be able to have one set of specs for a device. Instead of having to post both when you’re writing about devices.
Like we’ve said already, we’re expecting the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Camera to be unveiled at IFA in Berlin this September. Which should push a release to October for the US carriers, and November for Verizon (which is the same time they released it last year). I don’t know about all the rest of you, but I’m excited for the Galaxy Note 3. Hopefully they throw in at least a 4000mAh battery so we can continue with the great battery life that the Note line has been providing for the past two years.
Keep the rumors coming. And as always we’ll continue to report on them all. What do you think about the specs of the Galaxy Note 3? Will you be throwing your money at Samsung anytime soon?
