Some Best Buy Locations Selling new Nexus 7 Now, Amazon Shipping Today

The new Nexus 7 is a pretty great device and we’re sure that a lot of you are patiently, sorry impatiently, waiting to get their orders in come next Tuesday. That’s not too long away at all, and we’re glad that Google has given a definitive launch date for the device but, it would seem that some of Google’s retail partners have jumped the gun, and are already selling it. Android Police have reports of the device going up for sale in some Best Buy locations, as well Amazon shipping the device from today.

The above is an e-mail from one of Android Police’s tipsters and it looks like Best Buy is going to be selling the device a little early. The same can be said for Amazon as well, which is listing near immediate dispatch of the device.

While there’s no telling when the LTE version of the Nexus 7 is going on sale, which supports T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon LTE, it would look like you’ll be able to get your hands on the new Nexus 7 a little earlier than expected. If you’re keen to avoid the Play Store next Tuesday, then this weekend might be a good time to go scouting a few Best Buys, as well as other retailers that Google has partnered with for the launch of this Nexus 7.

We’re not surprised by this at all, in fact it happens quite often with this sort of thing. We’re just glad to see that Google has a much more robust retail distribution model in place for this year’s Google tablet. Of course, we’ll really know if Google has improved next Tuesday when we’re sure a whole bunch of us will be hitting the Play Store, throwing our credit cards at our monitors.

Let us know if you plan on going out and hunting down your own Nexus 7 or even if you’ve got one already!
