T-Mobile Grabs an Exclusive on the Xperia Z, Available from Sony Today, T-Mobile Stores on July 17th for $100 Down

The Xperia Z was announced back in January at CES. Not too long ago, we reviewed the Xperia Z here at Android Headlines. T-Mobile began teasing the Xperia Z a  few weeks ago, and today it’s available at the Sony Store and will be hitting T-Mobile shelves on July 17th.

The Sony Store has the T-Mobile Xperia Z for $100 down payment and $25 per month. Or you can buy the phone outright for about $580. Not too bad of a price. The Xperia Z features a 5-inch full HD 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and just got an update to Android 4.2.2. So you’ll be running the most recent version of Android. Not to mention that it’s also water proof and dust proof! Now that’s something I can get behind.

Right now the Sony Xperia Z is only available in the US as an unlocked phone or on T-Mobile now. So here’s another exclusive. That’s good for T-Mobile, but it sucks for Sony as they won’t be able to sell as many as they could have. Not to mention that it’s coming to T-Mobile 6 months after it’s announcement. I really hope Sony gets better at releasing devices in the US. It’s also one of T-Mobile’s new LTE devices that are available on the nation’s fourth largest carrier.

T-Mobile also announced their new Jump! program, which means in 6 months, if you don’t like your Xperia Z, you can upgrade to something new. Like the Galaxy Note 3, or the Galaxy S4. Sounds pretty good right? That’s all for $10/month, which includes Insurance on your phone. Which is about how much you’d pay for your insurance on your phones already.

So how many of you are going to head to the Sony store or wait for July 17th to grab the Xperia Z? Let us know in the comments below what you think about the Xperia Z on T-Mobile.
