Now, the HTC One Mini is officially official. And it’s joining the HTC One in HTC’s lineup which has been pretty successful for the company. We’ve already heard tons of rumors about the HTC One Max, and now we are hearing rumors about a new phone. Which is codenamed the HTC Zara. Codenames aren’t the real names of devices. You might remember the HTC One was actually the M7 throughout all the leaks we had seen before the announcement.
The news of the Zara is coming out of China. It mentions the Zara along with the T6, which we are pretty certain is the HTC One Max. The One Max is set to be another Metal phone, the Zara is mentioned as being plastic. Which is actually quite surprising. Especially given all the “Metal > Plastic” ads I’ve seen from HTC on their social media channels since the Galaxy S4 was announced in March.
Currently, there are no other details about the Zara, other than the choice of materials. So we are wondering if the Zara might be the plastic version of the One that we’ve heard very little about? Could it be a cheaper version of the HTC One, with all the same specs and features? There are more questions here than answers. It could even be something to do with the Butterfly series, which HTC just announced the Butterfly S not too long ago.
For all the grief that HTC has given Samsung for having a phone made of plastic, it’s quite surprising to see HTC working on a phone made of plastic. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what HTC does with the Zara or if it’s even an Android phone, seeing as that’s not even mentioned in the report. For all we know, this could be a Windows Phone device. Who knows. I do wish they’d create a tablet though.
