ASUS FonePad now Available from Three UK

ASUS’ phone that isn’t a tablet and the tablet that isn’t a phone is now available from Three UK. If you’re unfamiliar with the Fonepad, think of a first-generation Nexus 7 with an earpiece and full phone capabilities. It’s available from £179.99 full price or as little as £12.99 a month with a device cost of £29.99. It’s a good buy but, it’s not for everyone and you’ll be tied down for some time, possibly to a device that you don’t really want. If you;re looking for a tablet for 3G, then this is a good buy especially if you now what Three’s coverage is like around you.

HTC Mini+ Up for Pre-Order in the UK

The smartphone accessory from HTC that is essentially, another phone, is finally launching outside of Asia. It’s coming to the UK as the Mini+, it’ll be retailing for £64.99 and it’s a great accessory if you have a gigantic phone. Not just that but, if you hook up a MediaLink device to your TV, you can use the IR blaster in the Mini+. It’s an interesting concept but, considering the largest phone HTC sells in the UK is the HTC One at 4.7-inches, we’re not so sure this is needed.

New Nexus 7 to be Delivered by August 24th from eBuyer

When we heard that the new Nexus 7 wasn’t launching in the UK as it was in the States, we were a little disappointed. Although, it doesn’t look like the wait is going to be as long as we though, as eBuyer are listing delivery by August 24th. They’ve got both models of the device, £199.99 gets a 16GB model and £239 will get you 32GB of storage. It’s interesting to see eBuyer listing such a different date, as PCWorld were listing September some time. Take a look at eBuyer’s Nexus 7 page here.

Vodafone 4G Detailed: Launching August 29th

With O2 launching their network on the very same day, it looks like August is becoming a key month for the big networks in the UK. Vodafone is launching their 4G network in just London come the 29th but, they’re looking to bring “indoor” 4G coverage to 98 percent of the population by 2015. Other markets launching later this year include: Birmingham, Bradford, Coventry, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Sheffield. Whereas O2 were a little mysterious about their devices, Vodafone have come clean with a couple of tablets, including the Xperia Tablet Z. They’re going to have plans from £34 a month on 24-month contracts. While their network might just be starting, it’s nice to see that they’re getting ready to rollout pretty quickly, spending £900 Million this year alone.

LG G2 Coming to O2 and Three

In the week, you might have noticed that LG announced their latest and greatest Android device. Well, you can read all about it here and there’s plenty of info on it around the site. For those in the UK though, they’ll be able to get it on Three UK and O2, while other networks are sure to follow, these guys have stood up first. In fact, Three are so excited, they put together a little video for us:

HTC Desire 500 Up for Pre-Order in the UK

HTC saw fit to release yet another budget-minded handset into the UK market this week, with the news that the Desire 500 will be making its way to the British Isles. If you’re unfamiliar, think of a budget HTC device with no BoomSound and a bog-standard camera and you’ll pretty much have it. It comes in at 4.3-inches so, it’s definitely a device for those not looking for something too large. It’s also going to be pretty cheap, at just £229.99 from Mobile-Fun, where you can go and pre-order it now.
