Best Buy Stores Gaining Google Sales Specialists Soon?

The holiday season is almost upon us. Which means places like Best Buy are going to be hiring extra seasonal staff. According to Geek.com, recruiting officers are currently filling a new position at Best Buy, that’s ‘Google Sales Specialist’, for locations around the US.

Recently, Google’s Chris Dale said that Google wasn’t heading to Best Buy. But it looks like Chris Dale and Best Buy’s Jon Sandler worded that very carefully, just in time for Christmas there will be third-party staffers in Best Buy to help sell Google’s products. MarketStar is currently leading a massive hiring push all across the US for Google fans who would be well qualified to work in Best Buy stores and talk about the many Google products.

Here’s the explanation from the hiring page about the new position:

If you are extremely tech savvy, love Google products, an outgoing person, an early adopter and are born to spread some tech love, we may have the perfect part-time job for you! This is an outstanding opportunity for a great job with the leading outsourced sales organization www.marketstar.com, representing Google products at Best Buy!

It’s pretty obvious why Google is going this way. From talking with “average” consumers out there, many of them don’t know what a Chromebook is, or a Nexus 4, or the Chromecast. So taking this approach Google can have people like you and I work in a Best Buy store and explaining their products to the “average” consumer. It definitely sounds like a great job, especially if your’e following our site, you’re probably a good candidate for this job.

While the job is seasonal, it could turn out to be permanent. Especially with Google Glass coming to stores in 2014. Wouldn’t be cool to have someone on hand at your local Best Buy to show you how Google Glass works? Help you get started with Glass and answer any other questions? Certainly sounds like a good thing to me. Maybe Google should just hire the AH staff, we know more about these products than most people anyways.
