With the Moto X and the LG G2 launches behind us, the next big launch is Samsung’s Galaxy Note III, with the event scheduled for the beginning of September things are starting to heat up. While the Note line is obviously best known for their large display sizes, its next best feature has to be the brilliant battery life that Samsung continually put into the Note line. The Galaxy Note II had brilliant battery life, which was more than likely down to the massive 3,100 mAh battery inside the device but, Samsung’s optimizations play a big role as well. The Note III is obviously going to better the Note II significantly and fans of the line will be wanting that battery life to either increase or at least stay the same.
Thanks to an anonymous tipster that sent info into PhoneArena it looks like the Note III will indeed retain its battery life credentials. According to the tipster, the device is going to ship with a 3,450 mAh battery capacity. Which is an 11 percent increase over the Note II. It’s also the largest battery that Samsung have ever shipped in a smartphone, with the Galaxy Mega 6.3 shipping with a 3,200 mAh battery size.
We’re sure that the Note III will have much better battery life than the Note II. After all, how long a smartphone lasts on a single charge has quickly become a battleground among the OEMs. With Motorola pushing the boundaries on how long a device lasts without running to the outlet, Samsung will need to prove their devices can last the distance as well. Not to mention the improvements in CPUs since the Note II, the Snapdragon 800 is a powerful beast but, thanks to the Cortex A15 core designs, we should see a Galaxy Note device that outlasts most others on the shelf.
Are you guys looking forward to the Note III? What about you Note II users, would you upgrade to the Note III?
