We all know that the Galaxy Note III is coming next month and we also know that Samsung is going to be taking a similar strategy as they did with the Galaxy S4. Which unfortunately means that certain territories are going to get a “better” Note III, depending on your outlook and your opinion on the Exynos Octa and Snapdragon 800 chips. Needless to say, we now know who’s going to get what, thanks to the folks over at SamMobile. They’ve been good with Samsung leaks so far but, this time around they’ve outdone themselves. They’ve managed to get a hold of a massive and comprehensive list of which territories around the world are going to get which device.
First off, let’s talk about the two different models that the Note III is going to be shipping in, the SM-900 and the SM-9005. The SM-900 is going to feature 3GB RAM and the Samsung Exynos 5420, which is of course, Octa-Core. Meanwhile, the SM-9005 is packing the same 3GB of RAM but a Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 instead of the Exynos. The full list is available over at SamMobile but, we’re going to list some of the more relevant countries for our readers. First of all, here’s a section of the list that will be getting the Exynos Octa version, the SM-900:

- Hong Kong
- India
- Poland
- Russia
- South Africa
- Taiwan
- Thailand
- The UK
Meanwhile, here’s the list of those looking to get the Snapdragon 800 in their Note III, spoiler: the US is included. Again, this seems down to LTE, once again.
- Australia
- France (Buoygues, SFR)
- Germany (O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone)
- Ireland (most networks)
- Italy (most networks)
- Japan
- New Zealand
- Spain
- USA (AT&T)
- UK (O2, Vodafone, Three – LTE only)
As you can see, countries appear in the list more than once and that’s because the SM-9005 is basically the LTE version of the Note III, or at least that’s what it’s looking like right now. Certain networks in the UK that will have LTE will end up with a Snapdragon 800 and that seems to be the case across most of the globe as well. While the Octa supports LTE, just like the version included in some Galaxy S4 models, it seems that Samsung either can’t meet demand or certain networks and regions are more interested in the Snapdragon chip. With Qualcomm a company heavily invested in LTE, this is hardly surprising but, it does beg the question as to why Samsung doesn’t just ship one version with the Snapdragon 800 in it.
Needless to say, the Note III will be a great device and we’re sure that those who buy it will be happy with it no matter what.
