We all know that Samsung has been working on flexible display technology for some time now but, the question is just what are they going to be doing with it. Well, it seems that Samsung is a little lost for ideas and they’re looking to you guys for help. Samsung is looking for suggestions and plans concerning how to use flexible display technologies to better our future. The contest is only available to residents of the US, as AndroidBeat is reporting and the top prize is $10,000.
There are other prizes on offer, with second place taking $5,000 and the third place taking $2,500. Samsung is looking for full-on plans concerning devices that would utilize the technology and there are certain caveats. For one thing, your display must not be designed to use more pixels than a 1920 x 1080 display, and it can’t be any smaller than 1-inch or any larger than 20-inches. So, there are ground rules as to what your product design can be. As for other caveats, you have to make sure that what you design is indeed going to be high-volume, you can’t design something like the Ubuntu Edge for instance. You’ve got to come up with something that would be at least a little bit attractive to investors, as well.
To enter, you have to be over 18 years of age and reside in the US. So, unfortunately our International readers are out of luck, which is a shame. Nevertheless, for those of you looking to enter, you can do so by heading over to the Samsung Create website. While we’re sure that Samsung is going to get a lot of entries, this is hard thing to pick a winner, after all Samsung still hold all the answers when it comes to cost and availability of the displays that need to be at the heart of your designs.
