We’ve already heard a lot about the HTC One Max, and with the Mini having been officially announced by the company, it looks like the Max is on the horizon. The device has already leaked out on camera before but now, we’re getting a look at how the device shapes up in size. Thanks to the folks over at ePrice we can see the One Max compared to a 4-inch Android device, the Motorola XT882 for those interested, and it certainly does look pretty large. Having said that, comparing any smartphone on the shelves to a 4-inch device is going to result in somewhat similar comparisons, with 4.7-inch and 5-inch smartphones being the norm these days.
What’s interesting here is that there’s a little silver-looking button towards the top-left of the device, which is apparently some sort of battery door release. Which could mean that the One Max is going to have a removable battery and a microSD card slot. We doubt that however, and this could be a Chinese version of the device, and have support for dual-SIMs. This could mean the back cover comes off to get access to the SIM-card slots, just as it is with the Chinese variant of the HTC One. That variant did have a microSD card slot though, so at this point anything’s possible.
With a rumored display-size of 5.9-inches, the One Max is going to be one large smartphone. Of course, this is still smaller than the Xperia Z Ultra at 6.4-inches and with the One Max said to be going head-to-head with the Note III, the Fall is going to be an interesting time for larger smartphones.
HTC have recently been teasing some “big changes”, with a fellow who you might know as Iron Man. Whether or not these changes refer to the HTC One Max or in general is yet to be seen but, with the Fall lineup of devices already starting to fall into place, we’re sure HTC’s marketing machine is getting ready suit up. Speaking of which, we’ve yet to see a massive improvement in the company’s marketing that they promised earlier on in the year. Let’s hope that they have a big Fall marketing push all worked out.
