It’s official, the new Nexus 7 tablet, and its brightly colored box, are now available through the Google Play Store, for UK residents. The new Nexus 7 tablet is currently selling for £199.99 for the 16GB model, £239.99 gets a 32GB model in your hands. There is no word yet on the availability of a model supporting mobile data, so these devices are going to be WiFi only, for the time being.
UK residents will be relieved to finally get their hands on the new Nexus 7, directly from Google. It’s been quite a wait, as the Nexus 7 has been available in the U.S. and Canada since the end of July. Google has also been reported to be sending out emails to UK residents who signed up for updates, indicating the tablet is now on sale at local retailers Currys PC World, Amazon, Tesco, Argos and John Lewis. Google goes on to say in their email that residents should contact their local retailers for availability, and given the amount of positive reviews on this device I’d be inclined to agree.
The 7-inch Asus-made tablet boasts significant improvements over its Tegra-3 powered predecessor including but not limited to:
- A 1920×1200 HD display at 323 ppi
- A Qualcomm Snapdragonâ„¢ S4 Pro quad-core processor, 1.5GHz
- 2GB of Ram
- 3950 mAh battery, giving you up to 9 hours of active use, 9 hrs of HD video playback, 10 hrs of web browsing or e-reading, and 300 hrs of standby
- Not to forget the Addition of Android 4.3, with its highly touted TRIM support.
