Report: Google and Verizon In Talks To Add Google Play Music All Access to your Monthly Bill

We’ve had carrier billing in the US for quite a while with the Play Store. Where you can buy stuff from the Play Store whether it be movies, music, apps, games, or anything else in the Play Store, and have it billed to your monthly bill from your carrier. I believe all four carriers have that option now. A new report is telling us that Google is now in talks with Verizon to have carrier billing for their subscription music service, Google Play Music All Access. Which they unveiled back at Google I/O in May.

Right now Google Play Music All Access is offered for $9.99’month and is automatically taken from your credit card that you have on file on Google Play. Now the rumored deal between Verizon and Google would allow Verizon customers to charge the $9.99 monthly fee into their existing phone bill. So on top of everything else Verizon charges you, you’d get another $10 added for Google Play Music All Access. To me, it doesn’t sound like a bad thing, it essentially eliminates another bill every month by combining them into one. It’s not like Google and Verizon are going to charge you extra, if you signed up for Play Music All Access today, you’d be paying $9.99 as well, since the $7.99 deal is now over with.

Remember Motorola and Verizon are offering 6 months of free Google Play Music All Access on the new line of DROID’s from Verizon, which go on sale later this month. So this deal between the two companies doesn’t sound to far off. It would also be a great way for Google to get a boatload of new customers using Google Play Music All Access. I know I’d hate to see the service see the same fate as Google Reader, since it’s the best Music service I’ve ever used. I don’t know how the rest of you feel about All Access.

You can find out more information about the deal from Billboard. How many of you would be okay with Google charging your $10/month from Google Play Music All Access to your Verizon bill? Seeing as you’re basically paying the same amount. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
