The LG Optimus Pro G has been around a while, though only at AT&T and in South Korea, and it’s a shame, because this is a very feature laden phone that LG should have distributed to multiple carriers. They will not make the same mistake with their new flagship, the LG G2, as it will be available to multiple carriers. Another recent decision LG made that I think we will all be happy about is the revamping of their naming structure dropping the Optimus name from their flagship smartphone name…LG G2, or even G2, is all we need to know.
Up until now, the Optimus G Pro was only available in black, but thanks to our favorite tweeter, @evleaks, we know that it will soon be available in fashionable white.
The specs on this phone are quite impressive for the pricing as AT&T sells the Optimus Pro G for only $100 on contract and full-priced only at $440. It sports:
- 5.5-inch 1920—1080 IPS+ LCD display
- Snapdragon 600 quad-core 1.7GHz processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 32GB internal storage; microSD card slot
- 13MP rear facing camera, 2.1MP FFC (front-facing camera)
- 3140mAh battery
- Android 4.1.2
We tested this phone back in June and found many good reasons to buy the Optimus G Pro and it made us want to look forward to what LG has to offer us in the future. It looks like the LG G2 will be a competent successor; however, if you are now on AT&T, looking for a phablet style phone with great specs and a reasonable price, you cannot go wrong with the Optimus G Pro.
No word on when the stylish white version will hit the shelves, but it shouldn’t be too much longer. Let us know in the comments if you have or are thinking of purchasing the Pro G on AT&T.
