Now that we are less than a month away from Samsung’s Unpacked 2013: Episode 2 event in Berlin on September 4th. We’re going to start seeing a lot more leaks, rumors, and even reports from analysts about the Galaxy Note 3 which we fully expect to be unveiled at their event on September 4th.
We’ve already seen quite a few of prototypes and heard that Samsung has about 3-4 different prototypes in testing. But with it being this close to the announcement, I’m sure they are down to just one prototype by now. Some of the prototypes looked like they could be a completely different design from the Galaxy S4, Note 2 and Galaxy S3. While some looked exactly like a larger Galaxy S4 from earlier this year. On Monday, the specs for the Galaxy Note 3 allegedly leaked out. Showing us a 5.68-inch display, 3GB of RAM, the Exynos 5 Octa 5420 processor, and a 3200mAh battery. Not bad specs for the Galaxy Note 3, even though I was expecting a larger battery.
Just two weeks ago, Samsung was awarded two new design patents. One of the patents shows a departure from their current design language. The other one was pretty interesting as well, it’s one that we see down below and it looks like a pretty good candidate for the Galaxy Note 3. It looks to support the S Pen and Samsung’s flip cover which was first introduced with the Galaxy Note 2 last year and again with the Galaxy S4 this year.
Of course this is all speculation, but this would look a bit more like the design language from the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2. Looking at the back, you can see the camera with the flash and speaker on either side. On the Galaxy S4, the flash is below the camera, and the speaker is at the bottom of the device. On the front, there doesn’t appear to be much room for the physical buttons, but I’m sure they’ll add them in there somehow.
