Doesn’t every phone look huge when compared to the iPhone? Sure the iPhone 5 now has a 4-inch display, but that was so 2010 for us, right? The Sony Honami, which is model C690X, has been leaked and rumored most of the summer. We are finally going to get a good look at it during their September 4th event at IFA. Or at least we believe that’s what Sony is announcing.
Today, the Honami showed it’s face in white, and it looks pretty nice, although I wish they had made the bezels white as well. Then again, that’s just my own opinion. The Honami is said to be the successor to the Xperia Z. It’s supposedly going to have a 5-inch 1080p display, along with a 20.7MP camera on the back and a 3000mAh battery inside. Additionally, rumors have told us it’ll be powered by the Snapdragon 800 which is in the Xperia Z Ultra and the G2 from LG. The Snapdragon 800 is a beast. It runs at 2.3GHz, although it can be underclocked. That’s faster than some people’s laptops.
As far as the camera goes, we already know its a 20.7MP camera which is confirmed with the branding on the back. It’s got a 1/2.3-inch sensor with G Lens. It’s like Sony is one upping Samsung and their Galaxy Camera and Galaxy S4 Zoom. Forget a 16MP camera, why not a 20.7MP camera on the back? At least the camera on the Honami doesn’t appear to be as huge as the Galaxy S4 Zoom. On the Galaxy S4 Zoom, the camera pokes out quite a bit, which probably makes it difficult to pocket it. But with the Honami, it’s about as big as every other camera on any other smartphone. Which is great. On the other hand, the Galaxy S4 Zoom has optical zoom, it doesn’t appear that the Honami does.
Either way, we’ll learn more on September 4th at IFA. We’ll be sure to bring you all the information from the event. Don’t forget Samsung is announcing the Galaxy Note 3 that same day. So it’ll be a pretty busy day. Make sure you join us.
