Just last month, we first heard from Geek.com that ASUS might be making the next generation Nexus 10. Instead of it being Samsung. While many of us were kinda sad that it wouldn’t be Samsung, it was still pretty interesting that ASUS would be making it, since they did make this year’s Nexus 7.
This evening, there was a new claim over on Twitter from user @Rage06 who has a screenshot of the PCWorld Inventory screen showing the Nexus 10 by ASUS. This particular guy works for PCWorld, so it could be legit. Of course, we’ll still take this with the grain of salt that we always do.
Adding credit to this user, he actually came forward last year with pricing and PCWorld availablity for the 32GB Nexus 7 which landed last fall. It was also correct. This year the ASUS Nexus 10 seems to be priced at £349.99 in the UK, which makes it a bit more expensive than last year’s Nexus 10 by Samsung. Which it wouldn’t surprise us to see a price increase. After all the Nexus 7 (2013) did also see a price increase this year.
Like we said, we can’t be 100% sure that this is the Nexus 10 and that it’ll be made by ASUS. But it’s definitely looking more and more likely at this point. As we’ve seen virtually no rumors of a Samsung-made Nexus 10, but a few of an ASUS-made Nexus 10. Nonetheless, October is only a few weeks away and we should see the new Nexus 10 along with a Nexus 5 made by LG, along side the new Android 4.4 KitKat.
It’s definitely Nexus season now. We are seeing rumors just about everyday and some of them are pretty crazy. Hopefully we’ll know soon where you can get the best 10-inch tablet. All we can do right now is sit and wait and watch the rumors fly in. So make sure you stay tuned.
