Google has already updated Gmail, Google Voice and Hangouts today. Now they are pushing out an update to Google Search. As usual with Google updates, it’s a staged rollout. We don’t yet have the APK (We thought we did, but it was actually the old version). So if you do get the update, feel free to get the APK and send it in to us so we can share it with the rest of the readers.
We don’t have the update yet, and we aren’t sure whether Google updated the changelog on Google Play or not, but the changelog looks new to me so here’s what it says:
What’s New
For Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean):– Related website for current location– Real-time sports and flight updates, no 15 min delay– Set reminders from Google searches for album & book releases, tv shows– Car rental reservations from Gmail– Event tickets for select websites– Improved public transit card– Additional Smart-TV cards for news & music currently on TV– Ability to tell family & friends when you’ve left work (rolling out gradually)– Choose calendars and edit reminders
Like I said, we aren’t sure if that’s the new changelog or not. So if it isn’t, feel free to let us know in the comments below. We’re checking all of our devices hoping we can get the update soon. We’ll be sure to update this post as soon as we learn whats new and get the APK and share it with everyone like we always do.
It’s crazy that Google has updated basically all their major apps today. Yes, I still think Google Voice is major app, even though it’ll probably vanish soon. It’s especially great to see Gmail getting some Cards UI love. Personally I love that UI and would love to see it in more places. What else will Google update today?
