IFA 2013 hasn’t quite kicked off yet, but today is what they call “press day” where many of the manufacturers have their own press conferences to announce devices you’ll see at the show when it kicks off on Friday. We’ve already seen what Lenovo had to offer with the Vibe X smartphone and the IdeaTab S5000 tablet. Along with Sony’s QX Lenses which look to be very innovative, not to mention the Xperia Z1.
Now back to Samsung. The Korean manufacturer has just taken the wraps off of their Galaxy Note 3. For those that don’t know, Samsung has two flagship devices they announce every year. There’s the Galaxy S which is announced in the Spring or early Summer. Then the Galaxy Note line which is announced in the early fall and becomes available around November. So today, it was all about the Galaxy Note 3. Now of course, that wasn’t the only thing Samsung announced this morning. But that’s what we’re focusing on right now.
The Galaxy Note 3, as expected is launching on a ton of carriers. More than likely it’ll be hitting Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular and possibly a few other regional and prepaid carriers within the next 6 weeks or so. We’ve seen many rumors, and only a few leaks of the Galaxy Note 3, but now we’ve got the real deal. We had heard rumors that the material on the back was different. And now we know that there’s a leather type material on the back. So no more of the glossy plastic on the back. The Galaxy Note 3 comes in Black, white and Pink. And yes they are continuing with the S View Covers which are available in many colors.
The Galaxy Note 3 is featuring a 5.7-inch 1080p display, so it’s full HD. We don’t have the rest of the specs just yet. But we should be learning more very soon. Make sure you stay tuned. The Galaxy Note 3 is about the same size as the Galaxy Note 2, but thinner and lighter. Sounds a lot like the Galaxy S4 being the same size but thinner and lighter than the Galaxy S3 right? How many of you are anxious to get your hands on the Galaxy Note 3? The device is said to go on sale later this month.
